Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Hope that's correct above but what I'm saying is welcome everyone. May 10, 2019 is the first day of this blog and many may know me from 'Nao Kanzaki and Friends'... aitoda.com. There I have such a mix of things and finally decided to branch out with just a blog devoted to Japanese and Korean dramas. Will also be having some film reviews but one thing you won't see are any J-Pop idols or gravure models except for their dramas, this blog is dedicated 100% to dramas and films.

Also actresses as will be having many, many posts for them. Such as them appearing at events, mag spreads, interview pics and whatever else. So you should be seeing a lot of my bigger long time faves such as Erika Toda, Park Min-Young, Lee Yeon-Hee, Tsubasa Honda and too many others to count.

Should have done this on my Aitoda blog which is to let viewers know what's going on. Seems like a good way to let everyone know if I'll be taking a break, what to look forward to and any other tidbits.

Updating update, May 19th:

Whew, have finally finished transferring over enough posts from the Aitoda blog. May be a few here and there in the future for some new that's being introduced but there shouldn't be too many. Have also included announcers for women that I'll be posting about as my top two current faves just happen to be in that profession.

The first five episodes of '3-Nen A Gumi' have now been posted. For series over five shows will be doing two batches of them as I figure ten posts are way too many to read through during one sitting so will have the second half of the drama coming up in 2-3 weeks, highly recommend the show.

June 4th.... Have written up the recaps for episodes 7 and 8 of the '3-Nen A Gumi' show and will have those long with episode eight by June 6th. Up next for Korean dramas is up in the air but leaning towards a pair of shorter series which will be either "Splish Splash Love" or "The Universe's Star".

"Kakegurui: The Movie" press conference pics....

Know this may not be the most interesting post for the majority of viewers but there must be a few fans of the series out there. I'm certainly one as the first season which aired a year ago was one of my top dramas for 2018, it was so popular there's a second season which just started airing. So far there's been two episodes and have them both but sadly no subbing team has picked the series up yet. Sure it will happen so just biding my time until it does, once that happens will once again recap the entire season and am really looking forward to it.
"Kakegurui" reminds me so much of the 'Liar Game' series of dramas and films, that's close to being my number one Japanese series ever and never get tired of viewing it. As a matter of fact am planning on watching a few episodes this weekend, have watched it so many times I can start on whatever episode that strikes my fancy. If you don't know anything about the "Kakegurui" it's based on a manga which began in 2014.
The story takes place at the very prestigious Hyakkaou Private Academy where only the elite of the elite go. On the outside it may appear to be an esteemed school but what happens inside is an entirely different story. At the school studying isn't the number pastime of the students, instead it's gambling! And not for small stakes as many of the matches have involved many million yen, some students can afford to lose that amount while others can't. The games are quite intense like the challenges in the 'Liar Game' shows and like that drama they really build up the intensity for the games. Did recap all ten episodes of season one, they're somewhat short posts if you want to check the drama out which I highly recommend.

There's going to be a film of the series coming out on May 5th. By that time the series will have aired five episodes so think you may have to view those shows for the movie to make some sense. It's a late night drama which doesn't draw as many viewers but it does have a healthy amount of fans so perhaps the movie will end up being a big hit.
At the top of the post is the trailer for the film which already has about 550,000 views. On April 11th there was an event for the movie held at the Iino Hall in Tokyo, most of the main cast were in attendance save for Sayuri from Nogi, she's in the film along with being in the second season. The main character in the show is Yumeko who is played by Minami, she's such a talented young actress and still am planning on having a few solo posts for her in the future.
My fave character from the show is Mary who is played by Aoi, she's one of the top actresses around these days. Also was introduced to Ruka in this series, did a pair of posts for her which were quite popular so will have more of them coming up soon. Also in the cast is another Nogi member though she graduated, that's Marika whose looks would fit in fine for the movie though she's not in the drama. Also in the cast is Haruka who I've done a lot of recent posts for and she's in the drama.
Tried to have a few pics of everyone from the cast though most are for the two stars Minami and Aoi who have the first two batch of pics. The movie wasn't screened at the event which was more of a promotion for the film, it's classified as a 'completion' event. That means there may be another post or two for any screenings between now and May 3rd which is when the premiere will take place, will also have a post for that. After the mega amount of pics have a video for the event and there's quite a few on YT. Forgot to mention it but this event took place on April 11th.
