Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Hope that's correct above but what I'm saying is welcome everyone. May 10, 2019 is the first day of this blog and many may know me from 'Nao Kanzaki and Friends'... aitoda.com. There I have such a mix of things and finally decided to branch out with just a blog devoted to Japanese and Korean dramas. Will also be having some film reviews but one thing you won't see are any J-Pop idols or gravure models except for their dramas, this blog is dedicated 100% to dramas and films.

Also actresses as will be having many, many posts for them. Such as them appearing at events, mag spreads, interview pics and whatever else. So you should be seeing a lot of my bigger long time faves such as Erika Toda, Park Min-Young, Lee Yeon-Hee, Tsubasa Honda and too many others to count. The first few weeks there many not be too many posts for new dramas as I'll be copying many recaps from the old blog along with some film reviews and actress posts.

Won't be going too far back, perhaps to 2015 with a few exceptions and will have an entire series in a row to make it easy to follow. Did find it a problem completing series at the Nao Kanzaki blog, won't be doing that here as all the series will have a post for every episode. Thanks for visiting, it'll will be a work in progress for a while here but hopefully not for too long. Comments are also appreciated, like to know your opinions on dramas and for any recommendations you may have.

News and upcoming projects

Should have done this on my Aitoda blog which is to let viewers know what's going on. Seems like a good way to let everyone know if I'll be taking a break, what to look forward to and any other tidbits.

Updating update, May 19th:

Whew, have finally finished transferring over enough posts from the Aitoda blog. May be a few here and there in the future for some new that's being introduced but there shouldn't be too many. Have also included announcers for women that I'll be posting about as my top two current faves just happen to be in that profession.

The first five episodes of '3-Nen A Gumi' have now been posted. For series over five shows will be doing two batches of them as I figure ten posts are way too many to read through during one sitting so will have the second half of the drama coming up in 2-3 weeks, highly recommend the show.

June 4th.... Have written up the recaps for episodes 7 and 8 of the '3-Nen A Gumi' show and will have those long with episode eight by June 6th. Up next for Korean dramas is up in the air but leaning towards a pair of shorter series which will be either "Splish Splash Love" or "The Universe's Star".

Whew, this may be the biggest cast ever for a regular drama as there's twenty more students and a few other teachers. The show began on the date of March 1st and by what was told to us in the first episode the events take place until March 10th, the day the students were(are?) supposed to graduate....

Not as much action as the first two episodes but these next two shows may be even more intense, there are so many new twists in the storyline and some of them are so unexpected. Such as the opening scene which are the above screenshots. At the end of the second episode Hiiragi had contacted the police, he told the main detective on the case, Gunji, they were getting hungry and could he have onigiri for thirty people delivered?
Gunji didn't have much of a choice unless he wanted Hiiragi to kill another student, he agrees to the request but taking the food into the school will be his main supervisor Igarashi. That's not a real gun Hiiragi is holding above but instead a water gun(!), the pair seemed to know each other as they sat down so Igarashi's nerves could calm down. Actually seemed is the wrong word as the pair do know each other and Igarashi is somehow working in unison with Hiiragi. How is not exactly known at this time but figure that Igarashi will be doing some covering for the teacher and his students at headquarters. The get together didn't last too long but besides the food there was one other present that Iragashi left with his comrade.... a real gun!
It's now the third morning of the student's captivity, March 3rd if you're keeping track of the dates. And from what it appears most of the main storyline will revolve around the death of Reina who had jumped off the school's roof the previous October. She had been a swimming champion but she had been framed to make it seem as though she was doping before meets. A video of that had been uploaded to the internet and if you read the above recap you know that the culprit was Kaho. To date there's been a question Hiiragi has posed to the class pertaining to her death in each show, if they're wrong one student will be killed and for now one has been who was Ren in the first episode.

Oooops, forgot I was now having all of the recaps in a row so don't need to rehash what's happened to date, should make future posts a paragraph or two shorter. Another episode and another question relating to Reina's death. Can sort of figure out now what's behind Hiiragi's hostage taking, he wants to know the full details of her suicide and to him this may have been the only way.
Now the stakes have been raised, the students and police have until 8:00 pm to answer the next question or this time.... five students will be killed!!!! For the first time the police have been included in the mystery of Reina's death, the poser for them and the students is 'Who had filmed and edited the fake video of Reina doping before a swimming meet?'. Kaho had confessed to uploading the video to the internet but admitted she didn't take the video and Hiiragi believed her.
You'd think the police would be keeping all of the school's activities under wraps but somehow that hasn't been the case. The public doesn't know all of what's been happening but enough, such as one student being killed and the question that Hiiragi posed that Gunji has to solve or five more deaths may be forthcoming. The public has been all over the internet putting the police down and especially Gunji, it certainly hasn't been his fault at all but it almost seems Hiiragi has some support from the public. But there's yet one more major twist to the story and it'll turn out to be a very important one.

Those top two screenshots are of text messages sent from the school. However it wasn't Hiiragi behind the messages but a student(!), that's what the messages have claimed and that the person was able to hide an extra phone from his teacher. The student won't reveal his identity and says it's in case Hiiragi manages to intercept the messages but the person will be keeping Gunji notified of any new developments in the classroom.
Gunji and the students are working hard at looking for clues in the video. What they've all noticed is that the cameraman had been wearing a blue sweat jacket that was the same color of the school's swimming team. Gunji had also noticed what he thought was a food stain on a sleeve, for now he's trying to figure out if that could be a major clue. Meanwhile in the classroom the students are also working on the case but looking at things from an entirely different angle. Most of their suspicions have turned to Karen, she had been one of Reina's few friends but besides that was also her rival.
Her rival when it came to a boy whose name was Kakeru. He too had been on the swimming team and quietly had looked up to Reina along with having a crush on her. But at the time Kakeru had been going out with Karen off and on, she soon realized why their relationship couldn't be more serious. Karen was a bit torn on what to do, on one hand she was friends with Reina but on the other she really wanted to date Kakeru more seriously.
In this episode we learned that Reina had been very popular with the boys, even more so in the next episode. The boys knew that Kakeru had been a bit close to her and mainly because they were on the swimming team. For some odd reason which wasn't explained fully enough the group of student hooligans became very jealous of Kakeru, to make sure he was no longer a threat for Reina's attention they ambushed one day after school and severely beat him . So severely that Kakeru won't be able to be a swimmer any more which naturally depressed him to no end. Though she too was jealous Karen offered a solution to Kakeru's problem, one that may allow him to remain on the swimming team.

Through 2 1/2 episodes quite a bit happened but it wasn't confusing at all, that changed in the last twenty minutes of this show. Karen's solution from above was for Kakeru to join the swimming team as Reina's manager, seemed lame to him at first but that's what he did and it actually allowed him to grow more closer to Reina than ever. But all of that was in the past, it's now present day with the students and police fighting against time to figure out who shot the video.
Another suspect arose in the classroom, he was another male who we hadn't seen much of before this and his name was Satomi. Classroom rep Sakura had noticed him at Reina's last swimming meet, the one she had won and also the meet where the video had been taken. At the meet Satomi had been wearing a blue sweat jacket which he claimed someone from the swimming team had loaned him. Through a lot more intense pressure from his fellow students Satomi confessed to many things.
Didn't seem as though Reina was a very popular gal but she certainly was, she was also a very cute young woman. Satomi told the class he too had a crush on Reina and had confessed his love to her one afternoon after school. To his dismay Reina politely turned his advances down and Satomi was never able to recover from the shock. He was a very handsome boy who many girls had liked but his heart had been set on Reina.
Besides Kaho who had done some very vengeful things to Reina it was now Satomi's turn to take part in making her life miserable. With no real plans on what he would do with it Satomi hid in the girl's locker room to make the video. He had shot a scene showing a bottle of dope in her locker which was totally fake but as was doing so a person entered the room. Of course it was Reina and Satomi continued filming her but when it came to the point of her changing into her swimsuit Satomi erupted out of his hiding place, with Reina watching on he dashed away.

Final segment, started a rule a few months back to hold recaps at five of them but we are coming close to the end of the show anyway. Kaho had uploaded the video to the internet but had no clue who had put it in her schoolbag, Satomi did confess to taking the video but swore he had no part in giving Kaho the video. Plus Satomi insisted he had no idea on who may have edited the video to make it look as though Reina had been doping before the swimming meet, were those answers could enough to satisfy Hiiragi and prevent five deaths?
The answer to that was a big NO!, though Hiiragi believed what Satomi told the class it still didn't answer the question of who edited the video and gave it to Kaho. With the police listening in Hiiragi pronounced to his students that because of their inability to answer the question five must now perish. Hiiragi pulled out the pistol Igarashi had given him and instructed Satomi and four others to follow him to the art room where they would meet their demise.
The five were ordered to stand against a wall, as they assembled above them a bomb appeared to go off and burying the five in the ceiling's rubble. The last we saw of them they were lying covered in the rubble but were they truly dead? That's what Gunji at police headquarters thought as he stormed out of the building and scurried to the school but of course he was powerless to do do anything. With that the episode only had about twenty seconds to go as we still wondered if the students were dead. But one mystery took place in those final seconds, in the art room a young man appeared from behind a shelf, it's the figure of Ren who was the first student killed but now it's revealed he wasn't?!

Solid ending to the show and the mystery of his so-called death will be answered in the next recap which naturally is the post below this one. Won't give any spoilers away but the next show is even more intense, seems the storyline(s) have changed 180 degrees and it really made for an interesting watch. As usual a mega amount of screenshots to help you follow the story better.
