Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Hope that's correct above but what I'm saying is welcome everyone. May 10, 2019 is the first day of this blog and many may know me from 'Nao Kanzaki and Friends'... aitoda.com. There I have such a mix of things and finally decided to branch out with just a blog devoted to Japanese and Korean dramas. Will also be having some film reviews but one thing you won't see are any J-Pop idols or gravure models except for their dramas, this blog is dedicated 100% to dramas and films.

Also actresses as will be having many, many posts for them. Such as them appearing at events, mag spreads, interview pics and whatever else. So you should be seeing a lot of my bigger long time faves such as Erika Toda, Park Min-Young, Lee Yeon-Hee, Tsubasa Honda and too many others to count. The first few weeks there many not be too many posts for new dramas as I'll be copying many recaps from the old blog along with some film reviews and actress posts.

Won't be going too far back, perhaps to 2015 with a few exceptions and will have an entire series in a row to make it easy to follow. Did find it a problem completing series at the Nao Kanzaki blog, won't be doing that here as all the series will have a post for every episode. Thanks for visiting, it'll will be a work in progress for a while here but hopefully not for too long. Comments are also appreciated, like to know your opinions on dramas and for any recommendations you may have.

News and upcoming projects

Should have done this on my Aitoda blog which is to let viewers know what's going on. Seems like a good way to let everyone know if I'll be taking a break, what to look forward to and any other tidbits.

Updating update, May 19th:

Whew, have finally finished transferring over enough posts from the Aitoda blog. May be a few here and there in the future for some new that's being introduced but there shouldn't be too many. Have also included announcers for women that I'll be posting about as my top two current faves just happen to be in that profession.

The first five episodes of '3-Nen A Gumi' have now been posted. For series over five shows will be doing two batches of them as I figure ten posts are way too many to read through during one sitting so will have the second half of the drama coming up in 2-3 weeks, highly recommend the show.

June 4th.... Have written up the recaps for episodes 7 and 8 of the '3-Nen A Gumi' show and will have those long with episode eight by June 6th. Up next for Korean dramas is up in the air but leaning towards a pair of shorter series which will be either "Splish Splash Love" or "The Universe's Star".

Will be updating the above as the recaps go on, some characters we haven't met yet and a few that we have met are still a bit unknown.

For the 'Janus' series was able to keep the recaps at 4-5 paragraphs which is my goal for this drama. An episode is 23 minutes in length so seems I should be able to keep these posts shorter than regular dramas without leaving any details out. Plus as usual will have an overabundance of screenshots which will help you follow the story better.

First recaps are always a bit longer as the characters need to be introduced and the story explained a bit. But if you saw the first season you should be able to predict a bit of what will take place but through four episodes this is a much darker drama. While Ai in the first season was usually such a bubbly young woman Mai seems the opposite as she has harmed many men so far, at least one a show. But like Ai she came out of an old VHS tape and her duty is to serve the person that freed her. On to the recap and we didn't meet her until the five minute mark.

The setting is a high school but not in Tokyo, as a matter of fact the location nor the school's name has been mentioned. The main male character is a seventeen(?) year old lad named Taketo who kept trying to form school clubs but keeps getting turned down by his teacher Matsui, that teacher is the one we'll see the most of and he's in the middle above. Taketo isn't disliked by his classmates but is certainly not a popular boy, actually quite a confused young man. We don't see much of her until the third show but Rena will be playing a key part in this series, she's a new transfer student at the school. Taketo had gone to school with her eight years prior but her character Yuna doesn't remember him.
The male student we first met well was Yanagi who is in Taketo's class. One day he snuck into the school's broadcasting room for lunch where he discovered an old VHS tape, that screenshot is near the top. Out of curiosity he played the tape, a few seconds later who should be in the room but the Video Girl Mai! She told Yanagi her main purpose in 'living' is to serve her male master, wonder if a female has ever played the tape and if so what happened? Yanagi was telling Mai how he just broke up with his girlfriend Sayaka, he didn't give the reason why but Yanagi has such a hatred for the girl but Mai said not to worry as she can help him overcome his heartbreak. Will have to say am shocked Mizuki would be playing such a sexy and revealing gal which is so unlike an Idol.

If you've seen the 'Tomie' films or read the mangas that's the kind of female Mai is. Once a male gets under her spell they'll do anything to please her, eventually she drives them to the brink of death or to have a nervous breakdown. That's what happened to Yanagi as after one 'hot session' with Mai he's under her control, to please her he soon attacked his ex-girlfriend Sayaka. The teachers broke it up but Yanagi is a broken man and quickly disappeared as he didn't attend school for four days. But he was still around as Yanagi had been hiding out in the broadcasting room with Mai where the pair had a few more rounds of scorching sex, amazed a Nogi member would take such a role.
We won't know the outcome of Yanagi's fate until the next recap, remember an episode is just 23 minutes long. What wasn't explained at the end was how Mai returned to the VHS tape, was it because Yanagi had lost his marbles and she couldn't serve him? We're near the end when Taketo discovered the tape, he didn't play it then but instead brought it home. As you can see above he played the tape and as the show came to it's conclusion coming out of his TV set was Mai and that scene continues on into the next episode. Recap for that is the next post which was a better show though so much darker than this one.
