Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Hope that's correct above but what I'm saying is welcome everyone. May 10, 2019 is the first day of this blog and many may know me from 'Nao Kanzaki and Friends'... aitoda.com. There I have such a mix of things and finally decided to branch out with just a blog devoted to Japanese and Korean dramas. Will also be having some film reviews but one thing you won't see are any J-Pop idols or gravure models except for their dramas, this blog is dedicated 100% to dramas and films.

Also actresses as will be having many, many posts for them. Such as them appearing at events, mag spreads, interview pics and whatever else. So you should be seeing a lot of my bigger long time faves such as Erika Toda, Park Min-Young, Lee Yeon-Hee, Tsubasa Honda and too many others to count. The first few weeks there many not be too many posts for new dramas as I'll be copying many recaps from the old blog along with some film reviews and actress posts.

Won't be going too far back, perhaps to 2015 with a few exceptions and will have an entire series in a row to make it easy to follow. Did find it a problem completing series at the Nao Kanzaki blog, won't be doing that here as all the series will have a post for every episode. Thanks for visiting, it'll will be a work in progress for a while here but hopefully not for too long. Comments are also appreciated, like to know your opinions on dramas and for any recommendations you may have.

News and upcoming projects

Should have done this on my Aitoda blog which is to let viewers know what's going on. Seems like a good way to let everyone know if I'll be taking a break, what to look forward to and any other tidbits.

Updating update, May 19th:

Whew, have finally finished transferring over enough posts from the Aitoda blog. May be a few here and there in the future for some new that's being introduced but there shouldn't be too many. Have also included announcers for women that I'll be posting about as my top two current faves just happen to be in that profession.

The first five episodes of '3-Nen A Gumi' have now been posted. For series over five shows will be doing two batches of them as I figure ten posts are way too many to read through during one sitting so will have the second half of the drama coming up in 2-3 weeks, highly recommend the show.

June 4th.... Have written up the recaps for episodes 7 and 8 of the '3-Nen A Gumi' show and will have those long with episode eight by June 6th. Up next for Korean dramas is up in the air but leaning towards a pair of shorter series which will be either "Splish Splash Love" or "The Universe's Star".

Nao Kanzaki: The intro post for this year's 'Top Twenty Faves' list....

Don't know if any viewers recall but back from March until June was worried that there wouldn't be enough women to qualify for this year's faves list. But things worked out well as now 28 are eligible, last year it was 32. But that included four actresses from Korea and none this year qualified so the total from Japan remains the same as 2020. Not much change as far as my faves go for as of the 28 who are eligible nineteen also made the cut last year, haven't introduced nearly as many this year.

So what this mini intro post is for will be to give a rough schedule for the countdown. That list will just contain sixteen women but at the bottom will let you know who would have finished 17th to 20th. Would like to complete the list by December 22nd or 23rd, that's a little less than five weeks from now. So my plan is to begin it this Tuesday which is November 23rd, will have two positions then. But it being a holiday week may take two days off after that so what it boils down to is there will be four posts a week plus a wrap up post or two for stats and such.

The bigger reason for this post is to let viewers know why their huge fave didn't make the list. Of course that's Mai above and she'd be about fifth on my all time list. But this has been a disappointing year in my eyes for her, she's had seven posts but one was for her 2020 graduation photobook so just six regular posts which is such a huge decrease compared to other years. No doubt not being in Nogi played a factor in that and I bet she's made so much $$ over the years she wanted to take it a bit easier. But what was the most disappointing was the kinds of mag spreads and modeling pics she had. It's perfectly fine to me if she or many others never do any more gravure pics but the ones she's had this year have been so drab, can't believe she doesn't do more classy style photo shoots.

It's a bit of the 'late twenties curse' for her which too many of my other faves have caught. Tsubasa is another huge fave who won't make the list and she had made every one since in began in 2015. She was in the top ten four years in a row but has really slipped the last few years, she too has become a bit bland and why as she's only 29 in age. She's only had one post since May but could have done one this month but will hold off until December.

Will admit I do post a lot of gravure pictorials/photobooks but those gals seldom make the yearly list, two will for 2021. If you look at most of my faves from the years they tend to be actresses or regular models such as Marie last year, gals like her are the ones I prefer to post about. So as mentioned will have two posts this Tuesday, have those posts ready to do and also the one for the 14th position. Think the posts this year will be the best ever as I've been holding back many new pics. The only problems spots at the moment are for #'s 11 and 13, do have about ten days until they'll be coming up so do have some time to work on things.

Six Nogi members qualified for the list but only two will make the top sixteen. For the first time Hinako above is eligible but just not enough new happenings for her this year, she'll probably never make the yearly list but it's odd how she could be my #1 Nogi member. If you've been following this blog for a while you should know who most of the sixteen will be, that first position though could be the only surprise but she really is deserving. As I've said before the yearly list is different than an all time list, it's what someone has done in 2021 and not the last five years. These end up being popular posts and you can always make a comment on who your top ten/twenty were for 2021.

To make it an official top twenty will list who finished in the positions twenty to seventeen, the pics will go in that order. All four here easily could have made it but once again this was a strong list, you have to remember for everyone you may add on to the top sixteen means you have to take one off. Will have five pics for each of these faves who barely missed the list, in the 20th position is Nana who we all like immensely and will have her next post in about ten days. Hinako above did do enough to squeeze into the top twenty, will have to say I'm slightly worried about her departing next year. In 18th is Kazusa who is in my top five of all time for gravure models, not the busiest of years for her. And lastly in the 17th position is Nog's last remaining Mai who won't be remaining much longer. As many fans know she announced her graduation on this week's 'All Night Nippon' radio show, will try to have a post for her within a week.
