Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Hope that's correct above but what I'm saying is welcome everyone. May 10, 2019 is the first day of this blog and many may know me from 'Nao Kanzaki and Friends'... aitoda.com. There I have such a mix of things and finally decided to branch out with just a blog devoted to Japanese and Korean dramas. Will also be having some film reviews but one thing you won't see are any J-Pop idols or gravure models except for their dramas, this blog is dedicated 100% to dramas and films.

Also actresses as will be having many, many posts for them. Such as them appearing at events, mag spreads, interview pics and whatever else. So you should be seeing a lot of my bigger long time faves such as Erika Toda, Park Min-Young, Lee Yeon-Hee, Tsubasa Honda and too many others to count. The first few weeks there many not be too many posts for new dramas as I'll be copying many recaps from the old blog along with some film reviews and actress posts.

Won't be going too far back, perhaps to 2015 with a few exceptions and will have an entire series in a row to make it easy to follow. Did find it a problem completing series at the Nao Kanzaki blog, won't be doing that here as all the series will have a post for every episode. Thanks for visiting, it'll will be a work in progress for a while here but hopefully not for too long. Comments are also appreciated, like to know your opinions on dramas and for any recommendations you may have.

News and upcoming projects

Should have done this on my Aitoda blog which is to let viewers know what's going on. Seems like a good way to let everyone know if I'll be taking a break, what to look forward to and any other tidbits.

Updating update, May 19th:

Whew, have finally finished transferring over enough posts from the Aitoda blog. May be a few here and there in the future for some new that's being introduced but there shouldn't be too many. Have also included announcers for women that I'll be posting about as my top two current faves just happen to be in that profession.

The first five episodes of '3-Nen A Gumi' have now been posted. For series over five shows will be doing two batches of them as I figure ten posts are way too many to read through during one sitting so will have the second half of the drama coming up in 2-3 weeks, highly recommend the show.

June 4th.... Have written up the recaps for episodes 7 and 8 of the '3-Nen A Gumi' show and will have those long with episode eight by June 6th. Up next for Korean dramas is up in the air but leaning towards a pair of shorter series which will be either "Splish Splash Love" or "The Universe's Star".

'Top Twenty Faves' countdown for 2021: Position #12, the endearing Minami Hamabe!

 Previous positions:

Those above two pics are from her first photobook, will discuss it more at the end of the post. Will be doing a recap of the list once it's finished, hoping that will be on the 22nd so perhaps will have that post the next day. In it will have a lot of tidbits and stats, was just glancing at the top sixteen and noticed certain things already. For instance Minami is the most common name for women I post about, three with the name made the list this year and there's been two others in the past. Also briefly noticed the ages, position's 11-16 the average age is only 22.4 which is such a difference from the top five. Their average age is 28.4 and have said often in the past how I do prefer slightly older women, many more of those stats in that recap post.

This is Minami's debut on the yearly faves list, she would have made it in 2020 but do have an age requirement of 21 to be eligible which will go up to 22 next year. That's the age to be introduced these days but did 'grandmother' in any gal that had posts, may even increase that to 23 next year for new women. So Minami will always be the youngest women I post about and I'd be surprised if she didn't make every yearly list. Did a post for her about three weeks ago which was her first in five month and did briefly explain how I needed a break from her. She had seven posts by mid June and for some reason just was growing tired of her and it's hard to describe why. She's not the first nor last fave that's happened to and that may take place when someone has as many posts as she had since the beginning of 2020 plus I must have viewed five of her dramas during that stretch. My mind is clear now so you should expect a steady dose of Minami posts in the future. That next one may not be too far in the future as I'm holding back about fifteen pics but there still should be seventy(?) for this post.

So even though there was a five month gap between posts she wasn't nearly as busy as usual so not many things were missed. Sometimes I can be a bit stagnant when it comes to doing things, not often but the main one ever for me are the "Kakegurui" movies. Have both and did skim through the first one but have never sat down to view both. Season one which aired in 2018 has been one of my top dramas from the past few years so kind of baffled why I haven't watched and reviewed the films. So that's an early New Year's resolution that both will be viewed next year.

Rest of the post will just have newer pics such as this batch from the ViVi site, Minami's a model for them and doesn't she look so more grown up in these pics?

Minami has really increased her modeling work this year but those above will be the only ones for today. One semi oldish mag spread that was missed and is from the June issue of Entame.

One other slightly older set which came out in July for the OT online magazine.

Not so many event appearances for Minami this year, just two since July and both were for the '2021 TOHO Film Festival'. The first took place on July 12th which was for the festival's award ceremony, she won an acting award for the short film "Travel Note" which wasn't released in theaters. You can read much more about it here at the festival site: TOHO film festival site

Minami's second festival appearance took place on October 4th, long festival which was mainly for short movies that I think couldn't be longer than ten minutes. That mini film "Travel Note" had another screening on that day and perhaps there will be a DVD set of the festival films as I would think none would be at any cinemas.

Tabiiro is a travel web magazine that has an actress as their monthly 'travel woman'. Minami had that honor in September and their spreads always contain some superb pics. Have many here and for the photo shoot for the first time she visited the regions of Yatsugatake and Kiyasoto, here's the link to the site's interview and another one which is a short video of her travels.

Will be ending off with some pics from Minami's first photobook "20" that came out on October 27th. Though it was released so late it was still the ninth best selling book with 35,000 copies sold and what a drop in photobook sales this year, Keya had the first three spots. Was going to post the entire book right around Christmas but may wait on that as for some reason have a premonition I may get a warning about, after 550 photobook posts it's probably needless worrying. So may just post 25 or so pics in each of her posts which may be a safer route, to me it's a solid photobook and glad she didn't go too gravure with the pics. Will skip having a video at the end and instead have another link which is to Menicon's YT channel as Minami has so many videos there for the contact lens company: Menicon
