Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Konnichiwa and Annyeong Haseyo minna-san

Hope that's correct above but what I'm saying is welcome everyone. May 10, 2019 is the first day of this blog and many may know me from 'Nao Kanzaki and Friends'... aitoda.com. There I have such a mix of things and finally decided to branch out with just a blog devoted to Japanese and Korean dramas. Will also be having some film reviews but one thing you won't see are any J-Pop idols or gravure models except for their dramas, this blog is dedicated 100% to dramas and films.

Also actresses as will be having many, many posts for them. Such as them appearing at events, mag spreads, interview pics and whatever else. So you should be seeing a lot of my bigger long time faves such as Erika Toda, Park Min-Young, Lee Yeon-Hee, Tsubasa Honda and too many others to count. The first few weeks there many not be too many posts for new dramas as I'll be copying many recaps from the old blog along with some film reviews and actress posts.

Won't be going too far back, perhaps to 2015 with a few exceptions and will have an entire series in a row to make it easy to follow. Did find it a problem completing series at the Nao Kanzaki blog, won't be doing that here as all the series will have a post for every episode. Thanks for visiting, it'll will be a work in progress for a while here but hopefully not for too long. Comments are also appreciated, like to know your opinions on dramas and for any recommendations you may have.

News and upcoming projects

Should have done this on my Aitoda blog which is to let viewers know what's going on. Seems like a good way to let everyone know if I'll be taking a break, what to look forward to and any other tidbits.

Updating update, May 19th:

Whew, have finally finished transferring over enough posts from the Aitoda blog. May be a few here and there in the future for some new that's being introduced but there shouldn't be too many. Have also included announcers for women that I'll be posting about as my top two current faves just happen to be in that profession.

The first five episodes of '3-Nen A Gumi' have now been posted. For series over five shows will be doing two batches of them as I figure ten posts are way too many to read through during one sitting so will have the second half of the drama coming up in 2-3 weeks, highly recommend the show.

June 4th.... Have written up the recaps for episodes 7 and 8 of the '3-Nen A Gumi' show and will have those long with episode eight by June 6th. Up next for Korean dramas is up in the air but leaning towards a pair of shorter series which will be either "Splish Splash Love" or "The Universe's Star".

"Furo Girl" drama: Episode one recap

Air Dates: July 15th until August 20th, five episodes at the time of this recap have aired. It's
on TV-Tokyo Wednesday nights at 12:58 am, subs have been done by 'Salaryman Subs'.

Main Cast: This is correct as there's only two characters and really it's mainly just Hinako who is on screen close to 100% of the time. When she interacts with her best friend it's always by video on their cellphones and it could be because of the virus.

Hinako Sakurai as Sayoko Oyumino.... 25 year old OL(supposedly) who is overly obsessed with taking baths! Seems she has only one friend in the world and spends all of her time alone which is fine by her as taking baths is more important than being around humans! The narration is also done by Sayoko as we rarely hear her talk out loud.

Sakurako Konishi as Aino Hiyama.... Sayoko's only friend and she's man crazy, though she has a boyfriend he ignores her and she's always on the hunt for another. The pair went to an unnamed college together.

The two kinds of posts that receive the least amount of views are drama recaps and ones for.... Hinako! Let's see what happens when you combine the two and hope viewers give these recaps a glance as it's kind of a fun show through two episodes. It's quite a quiet drama but also very quirky and Hinako excels in these kinds of roles. An episode is 25 minutes in length and really the main story to these shows will be of Sayoko preparing her nightly bath. Admit it's not exciting but is a bit fun and these recaps should be among the shortest I've ever done but will try to make them a bit lengthier and these posts will mainly consist of screenshots.

**** Was going to do four recaps as I've viewed four episodes. But just before I finished this post went to the show's site and learned it's a six episode series with the last show airing this Wednesday. So am just going to have a pair of recaps for today and then the final four in about two weeks, have to say this has been such a fun and quirky series which I recommend.

It appears all of the action will be taking place in Sayoko's apartment and it is a small one. She does work in an office but haven't heard one detail of what company it is or what Sayoko does there. As mentioned above each episode will focus on her nightly baths, it's a ritual for Sayoko and every bath will be slightly different. For this upcoming bath Sayoko purchased many bubbles of figurines, they may also be a hobby she has. But to her dismay all of the objects were of 'Dad Ducks' who had a stein of beer, Sayoko had been wishing for many different ones to accompany her on the nightly bath.

But she had an idea with the empty capsules which is to create 'bath bombs' which seem to be popular or at least to Sayoko. Not having the right ingredients Sayoko rushed out to the local store for some and ended up with a unique creation. She mixed baking soda and citric acid together, then she stuck them in her freezer for three hours and as you can see Sayoko had nothing in there?! To her the creation came out quite well but not according to her mate Aino who she showed the 'bombs' to over her cellphone.

To Aino those frozen bubbles looked too bland, Sayoko had to agree and rushed to create yet another batch!!!! This time she added some food coloring, some green cloves(?) to the coating and in one a 'daddy duck, once again they had to be frozen for three hours. That brought up a time line question from me and did Sayoko stay up to 4:00 am? Those 'bombs' were in the freezer for six hours, she went to the store once, before that she had a grand opening of the figurines plus talked on the phone to Aino twice and that was all before she began her bath!

The second time was the charm for Sayoko as the bath bombs' look perfect to her so now it's time for her heavenly bath. You often hear of connoisseurs of fine food but never one for 'taking baths' so perhaps Sayoko is an original woman. Kept trying to get a better angle when she entered the tub but to no avail, sigh. No need to explain too much on how thoroughly Sayoko enjoyed her time in the bath and if she had her wish she'd spend all day in it. In that first screenshot she says 'Who am I talking to?' which she says every episode as most of what he hear is Sayoko's narration.

Last segment, hard to stretch out things too much when all that took place was a bath. But as you can see Sayoko was in seventh heaven in the bath but her best and only friend Aino doesn't feel that way about them. To her showers are the way to go and has never understood why Sayoko goes to such extremes to take an ordinary bath. That's what she said to Sayoko who called her friend after the luxurious event but hearing her talk about the pleasures she has taking them may have changed Aino's mind. She asked Sayoko if she could be her 'mentor' in also becoming a 'bath fanatic' and that gets answered in the next recap.

As the episode came to it's finale Sayoko prepared herself a meal before retiring, as I said did she stay up until 4:00 am? As I've added in at the top just learned this is a six episode series so changed my mind on how many posts will be done for today, two instead of six. Unsure how I'll do the other four shows, all in a row or two batches with a pair of recaps? We'll see what happens and following this is the post for the second episode which I did find to be a bit better. Plenty of screenshots to help you follow the story better and this is one of those dramas which is better to view than to read about.
